What is a mushroom?
The standard for the name "mushroom" is most often applied to those fungi that have a stem (stipe), a cap (pileus), and gills (lamellae, singular: lamella) on the underside of the cap.
Our focus at Misfit Mushrooms is a holistic approach with emphasis on the medicinal properties and nutritional value of various mushroom species.

Cooking with mushrooms
The possibilities of cooking with mushrooms are enormous! Mushrooms can be braised, broiled, grilled, sautéed, and stewed. Mushrooms are also the perfect companions to pasta, sauces, soups, stews, and vegan and vegetarian dishes as a substitute for meats and seafood.
